Needed to buy some electronic stuffs from Akiba yesterday. So many geeky/otaku things to buy, see and do you could spend several days there. Weather was a little dull and cloudy, sometimes light rain too but still nice and warm.
You can see Yodobashi in the background. They sell lots of electrical goods, in fact it’s where I bought one of my cameras from that I’ve used to take these photos. The Lumix LX3. Been a good camera but due for an upgrade at some point methinks.
Maids are everywhere trying to handout leaflets and wotnot. Often saw some male folk talking to them, no idea what they were asking them.
I ventured inside the building where AKB48 perform live. This place is plastered with pictures of AKB48 and holds an AKB48 shop.
As well as holding a load of arcade machines!
Found an ancient version of Tetris which I challenged my girlfriend too. Tetris with a joystick is odd.
One of my favourite arcade games Taiko no Tatsujin. Had a few goes on this but there were some “professionals” nearby making my mortal skills look weak. Some DDR machines in the background, tempted but I don’t have the needed level of skill!
As you climb this building which has many floors you reach a point when you can go no further, unless you’re going to see AKB48 perform live that is. Well since I wasn’t this is as far as I could go.
Toward the top end or bottom end depending on how you look at it. Seems quite quite but it was a monday.
The AKB48 building next to Tsukumo. Tsukumo is full of loads of PC stuffs. Great for those who like to build their own PC.
Have you seen this bridge before? It’s quite famous, well in the sense that you often see it in lots of pictures of Akiba ^^;
This shops sells loads of games. The front of it is always changing as new games come out. Usually a good place to see a few 2D cuties.
Club Sega back there by the green bridge. A lady snook onto this shot carrying an umbrella whilst cycling. Apparently this is illegal to do over here but everyone still does it anyway. Ah, just spotted a maid wearing bright pink!
For some reason no matter what time of day it is there are always school girls out and about. I’m not sure why they aren’t at school, looks like these two come from different schools and their uniforms are slightly different. Perhaps a different year?
Looks kind of futuristic don’t you think?
Time to go back home to Chiba as I managed to get what I was after from SoftMap. Needed some Japanese adapters for my MacBook Pro power supply.
